As you enter the space you are greeted with a dim light space filled with well light images.
The images where of high resolution prints of flat insects that are flat. The prints are very dark and the fine detail of the insect can be seen.
The pieces felt really dark and creepy, due to them being so large, detailed and dark. The insects appear from within the darkness and appear so big.
Although there was this creepy-ness within the work there was also a sense of beauty. The fine detail of the wings and colours were so beautifully printed that it distracts from what the print is actually of.

Mat collishaw, all things fall, 2014
All Things Fall was an interesting piece at The New Art Gallery. The viewer enters a dark space in which a giant sculpture featured in the middle of the space. The sculpture would begin to spin, getting faster and faster before strobe lighting would begin to flash. The flashing caused the sculpture to come to life, making an animation of people.
The initial shock of the people coming to life within the piece distracted from the actual contexts of the piece. The viewer is more fascinated by the movement of the people within the piece rather than what the people were doing.
However, after sitting with the piece twice I was able to take in the actions of the animation. The peoples movement within the piece where quiet shocking once you understood what was happening. The graphic movement shocked me and the beauty of the piece became scary.
Within the peace if seemed like a roman story, people were fighting, children were being killed and it looked as though women were being raped. The shock factor that came with watching the piece the second time made me not want to stay within the space. It being so dark, it became enclosed and I was uncomfortable to stay within the darkness whilst these graphic actions were happening in front of me.
