Curator
Verb (used with object), curated, curating.
3. to take charge of (a museum) or organize (an art exhibit)
When curating there’s a lot of important factors to take into consideration. For example, the scale of the piece and where the piece shall be placed, the relationship between the artworks or how the audience will view it. These are all things that need to work for an exhibition to be successful. If a small scale piece was in a large space alone, it might not work and might hinder the viewer's perspective of the piece. So whilst exhibitions are being set up the curator might have to rework the layout of the rooms and what pieces are going to be shown together.
When I attended the William Morris and Andy Warhol exhibition called Love is Enough it was clear the curator could see a relationship between the two artists and wanted to visualise that. When hearing these two artists were placed together in a show, the relationship was unclear due to their different concepts and materials. However, after attending the show there was a clear relationship between the two and the curator had made the viewers clearly see it as well.
